
Why does bottled water have an expiration date? Will the H2O spoil? Will it ferment and become wine? I was just wondering. I guess common sense doesn’t alway factor into capitalism.

No, water doesn’t expire because there aren’t enough living materials in it to support an enviroment for germs. Yes, water has minerals but life needs other essentials such as carbon. Water is simply just a liquid phase state of oxygen and hydrogen. Although, water does go stale because molecues in the air will settle into it and as you can imagine a lot of microscopic particles from organisms such as ourselves and animals linger in the air.
